Late 2016, I attended the ABSIA’s annual Conference & Expo in Sydney. As with previous years, the guest speakers for the day (including representatives from Paypal, ATO The Australian Financial Review) covered a range of topics like current industry issues, emerging trends and the challenges facing all of us in our day-to-day lives. All of the presentations were informative and really got me thinking about the rate of change we can expect over the coming years.
Last week, NGA had the opportunity to attend ABSIA’s latest forum, a well-attended event with an estimate of 100 delegates, with a strong representation of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) who addressed several of the sessions on the day.
Typically, payroll management has been classified as an operational business discipline and therefore considered a less strategic function than revenue creating activities such as sales, logistics and marketing.
